The Mini Fundo is recommended for riders who don’t want to be in the saddle all day. It features the same challenging beginnings as our longer rides including the notorious climb up Kings Highway. With about 3,000 feet of climbing and plenty of dirt sections, the Mini Fundo should take you about three hours. Once you return, snacks will be available until the traditional barbecue starts at 2:00 p.m.
DISTANCE: 67.5 MILES
The classic Grand Fundo is our signature ride and includes approximately 20 miles of maintained dirt roads in good ridable condition. There are some steep sections between miles 12 and 20 and then it eases up after the midway point. It is a challenging ride best for seasoned cyclists. We expect most riders to finish in four hours. Find the FUNDO route here.
Cyclocross Adventure Ride
DISTANCE: 67 MILES
For 2018, the JAM Fund is excited to continue our evolution of gravel adventuring in Western Massachusetts! We're adding a new, challenging "CX adventure" ride for participants looking to dust off their CX bikes in July. The idea is to create a version of our Grand Fundo that most closely resembles what the JAM riders do on any given weekend. Make no bones about it, this loop is hard! There will be a healthy mix of technical road, dirt and MTB-like sections, but that will make the rest stop food and scenic views that much better.
Note: The Adventure is for riders who have prepared extensively for a lot of steep climbs, dirt, technical descents and long days on the bike. We’ve been playing around on this loop and it should take about five hours. It’s a very challenging ride, but there are spots where you can bail out onto the FUNdo loop and get yourself back to the vineyard at a reasonable hour. Adventure riders should use 35C tires and pack spare equipment as our SRAM support vehicles will not be able to pass some of the roads you'll be conquering.
Our program runs on your generous donations. Without them our van would run out of gas and we'd never make it to the races! Thank you for supporting tomorrow's cross pros.
